rocks, paper, scissors

How many times has this game come in handy? Indispensable for group play really. Settle those playground disputes, decide who goes first, who gets the last piece of gum and so on. Here is a quick refresher if you haven’t played for a while:

This awesome game became popular in Japan in the late 1800s and all over the world in the 20th century. A more rock ‘em sock ‘em variation in Indonesia is based on an earwig, a human and an elephant. The earwig climbs into the elephants ear and makes it crazy, the human crushes the earwig and the elephant smashes the human. Make up your own version if you want!

Amazingly, this game has become so popular that a World Rock Paper Scissors Society was formed in 2002 and they have overseen International World Championships. A Canadian has been the champ five out of eight years. Oh Canada! Teach your little one the game and help keep Canada’s world domination going!
