8 & 9 Year Olds

Kids this age love to be challenged — look for more complicated construction sets, intricate colouring books, and games that involve strategy. Eight and nine year-olds are super curious with a real thirst for knowledge; introduce more "grown up" art supplies and activity books as well as diaries, journals, and novels. Artistic expression is so valuable when many emotions and social situations are new to your child at this stage. Encourage problem solving abilities, independent thinking, and strategy with fun activities such as LEGO sets, marble mazes, building or excavation kits, as well as reasoning, trivia, and word games.
